SUNY Undergraduate Research Conference!

The College at Brockport is proud to host the inaugural SUNY Undergraduate Research Conference (SURC) on Friday, April 10, 2015. SURC will bring together undergraduate researchers and visual and performing artists as well as their faculty mentors throughout the SUNY and CUNY system for a full day of activities, including sessions devoted to student presentations, luncheon with keynote, a SUNY Graduate School Fair, and professional development workshops for students and faculty. We encourage your attendance and partnership in recruiting student, faculty, and staff participation as we celebrate an exciting and innovative, new SUNY tradition.

Submission deadline is February 1, 2015.

Applications open for U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) 2015 HS-STEM Summer Internships

Application deadline: December 22, 2014

Undergraduate students receive a $6,000 stipend plus travel expenses.
Graduate students receive a $7,000 stipend plus travel expenses.

10-week research experiences are offered at: Argonne, Berkeley, Livermore, Los Alamos, Oak Ridge, Pacific Northwest, and Sandia National Laboratories; as well as at Homeland Security Studies and Analysis Institute, Coast Guard Research and Development Center, Customs and Borders Protection Laboratories and Scientific Services, Domestic Nuclear Detection Office, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Naval Research Laboratory, Engineer Research and Development Center, National Security Technologies Remote Sensing Laboratory, Transportation Security Laboratory, and more.

Areas of research: Engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological / life sciences, environmental science, emergency and incident management, social sciences, and more.

U.S. citizenship required

What is CREU?

CREU is a web-based crowdfunding platform for undergraduate research that can be found on the CrowdREU Website. Potential research projects from any nonprofit two or four year US institution can be posted to the site in order to accept donations.

What makes CREU different from other crowdfunding sites?
(1) It is dedicated exclusively to undergraduate research.
(2) All projects are reviewed by an independent expert before posting.
(3) It provides a grant-type experience for undergraduates.
(4) No fees are charged to campaigners.
(5) It allows matching funds.
(6) Money can be raised for supplies, equipment, travel, housing, and student stipends.

Who is CREU?
CREU is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing funding for undergraduate research. Current officers are:
